My landlord texted me to say he's tired of dealing with the shifty cable company so he's canceling Internet service at the house ASAP. They are the only ISP serving this locale and they don't offer relevant low-income plans. So if and when he goes through with it, I will have connectivity only via making trips into town and wardriving, I guess. The timing could be better.

Can you ask him to postpone it until things are more back to normal? Like you say, really terrible timing to lose the internet right now.

It is still on atm so I did text back a 'commiserative but also hey pandemic' reply this morning. We'll see. (hands)
