Just realized last night why it was so very very quiet... my entire life there's been a factory going a couple blocks away (I think it makes cardboard boxes). And it's always, always a background noise of steam and machinery, which I just pretty much filter out.

But silence.

So weird.

Even after hurricanes when my house and all the neighbors were without power for a month, the factory kept going. It feels so odd...

Woke up early today and boiled some cotton fabric for the next batch of non-medical, better than nothing, face masks. The online custom fabric printing place where I put up my designs for a commission is planning to convert their home decor sewn stuff division to making face masks. Theirs will probably look much more official. Mine are made from the remnants of many years of patchwork quilt making.

I just finished my first few. Trying to get up to speed. I put pics on my DW if anyone's curious.

Thanks! I need to learn how to sew faster. :^) Going to start now, the boiled stuff is set aside for later. :^)
