Today I got a request for customizing of one of my designs. Spent a couple hours doing variants, and both the customer and I were very pleased with two of them. (The others have potential to appeal to other people, so that's all good.)

Customer wanted to order wallpaper swatches of each of the two designs to see which would work best, but only the designer can place the first order on any design, as proofing.

Spoonflower is still printing- but using social distancing and other safety measures has slowed them down. So it's looking like 3 weeks or more, before *I* can get the proofs and set them for sale. And then the customer another 3 weeks to get the samples, and if they like one, another 3 weeks after that to get the wallpaper to do the job.

It feels like First World Problem, I know. I certainly don't want the Spoonflower printers to reduce safety in favor of speed. I just want MIRACLES. Is that too much to ask?

Yes. ;^) I did offer to order the wallpaper swatches myself and send them to the customer (cutting out one 3 week wait)- but they'd have to trust me with their name and address, and I'd have to trust them to reimburse me. So... customer said that Spoonflower wanted to feature them, and so could probably get priority. I'm waiting to hear back if customer got to Help and they are able to accelerate matters. Even their Help is swamped- I emailed them with a simple request they'd done before normally within 2 days... that was on April 29th and so far no reply.

Still, it was a nice challenge and customer an interesting person to convo with. Must get back to designing in earnest. Draw more doggies! The world needs more cute doggie designs.

Do you have a favorite breed of dog? I'm trying to think what I should draw next, and my purebred dog designs sell best (them and plaids. Plaids are classic.)
