Today I got a request for customizing of one of my designs. Spent a couple hours doing variants, and both the customer and I were very pleased with two of them. (The others have potential to appeal to other people, so that's all good.)

Customer wanted to order wallpaper swatches of each of the two designs to see which would work best, but only the designer can place the first order on any design, as proofing.

Spoonflower is still printing- but using social distancing and other safety measures has slowed them down. So it's looking like 3 weeks or more, before *I* can get the proofs and set them for sale. And then the customer another 3 weeks to get the samples, and if they like one, another 3 weeks after that to get the wallpaper to do the job.

It feels like First World Problem, I know. I certainly don't want the Spoonflower printers to reduce safety in favor of speed. I just want MIRACLES. Is that too much to ask?

Yes. ;^) I did offer to order the wallpaper swatches myself and send them to the customer (cutting out one 3 week wait)- but they'd have to trust me with their name and address, and I'd have to trust them to reimburse me. So... customer said that Spoonflower wanted to feature them, and so could probably get priority. I'm waiting to hear back if customer got to Help and they are able to accelerate matters. Even their Help is swamped- I emailed them with a simple request they'd done before normally within 2 days... that was on April 29th and so far no reply.

Still, it was a nice challenge and customer an interesting person to convo with. Must get back to designing in earnest. Draw more doggies! The world needs more cute doggie designs.

Do you have a favorite breed of dog? I'm trying to think what I should draw next, and my purebred dog designs sell best (them and plaids. Plaids are classic.)

I think I'm in the same boat as a lot of people: I'm in the "okay, but don't heed help camp for the long haul.

I do need to call my psych person tomorrow, and figure out whether medicaid took care of the majority of my medical bills. Because if they didn't, I'm not sure I'ma be able to do much more than pay them off with the stimulous shit I'm getting.

Especially since they add up to $533. Which is a stupidly small number compared to most, but still almost half the check. :(

Ah well, I suppose there are worse problems to have.

Hello from someone else in the "not ok, but don't need help" camp for the long haul.

Health care in the US is horrifically expensive, and it sucks that Medicaid doesn't cover a lot of things. $533 is still $533. (I'm disabled, so $533 is A Lot of money to me.) That stimulus check doesn't go very far, honestly.

There might be *worse* problems to have but it's still valid for you to vent about yours. I hope things get better for you soon.

I am, too. Most often I get 1053 a month, so yeah, I hear you about five hundred 33 being a lot of money. It is for me, too.

I'm totally blind and have several mental issues, so disabled is noting new to me, either.

I'm a homebody and I generally don't have a problem with being alone, but I realized today that I've spoken to a grand total of three people in person over the last six weeks. All three were grocery store employees. I'm getting out of practice with social interaction.

Today, I finally finished unraveling the mistakes in the blanket I'm knitting. I only had to go back three rows to do it, and now I get some progress in.

Yesterday was the one month anniversary of me breaking up with my fiancee. Still depressed. (I would be depressed anyway, because brain chemistry, but yeah.) Not airing details in public, just having a sad.

Today we had a skype visit with my parents and my son showed off the card he made for them. Then we had a skype visit with my husband's parents and ditto. After that much screen time my son was too riled up to do anything else except melt down. I'm partly grumpy that no one did anything for *me* for mother's day and partly relieved because it would've been another thing to do and we're all overwhelmed.

Also my allergies are acting up, which is sending me into cycles of OH NO I HAVE CORONA no it's probably allergies that I get all the time BUT I JUST COUGHED OH NO WHAT IF...etc.

We took our household of five sneezy/coughing allergic-to-whatever individuals for flu shots on Friday, which ended up with three of us going for covid testing, all of which have come back negative. Which, while I wasn't expecting it to be positive, was still a relief -- Youngest can now go to school tomorrow, and point out that the cough has been going on Quite Some Time, and hopefully all will be good.

My brother got his COVID antibody levels tested, and they are SUPER high. His blood is going to a research study at Stony Brook (I don't know the details), because he says "No WAY my blood is going to a bunch of white people." We are EXTREMELY white, but he's a Catholic priest who's spent his entire career working with communities of color, and the hit the Black & Hispanic communities in NY are taking enrages him. Hopefully they can learn something from his extra-abundant antibodies that makes a difference.

Wow. That is neat about your brother's antibody levels, and good for him for donating, and extra-good that he tried to aim where it would help everybody.
