I had a nasty scare when I got to my new place and the balcony doors flew open in the night the first night and I thought my cat had escaped. But all’s well, she was hiding in the house all the time.

I'm having a hard time adjusting to the fact that we are never going back to what I thought of as "normal."

I found out not long ago that my brother, whom I've always known to be a racist, is a Proud Boy, as is his drug-addled adult son. I'm low- to no-contact with my family, and I'm going to stay that way, so I'm not asking anyone if my brother went to DC. But I've been checking the photos. I dunno. If I were to see him, I'd just feel worse, so I should stop looking.
