As an American, I am currently unable to choose "I am OK".

And I felt so *good* this morning, when I woke up and checked the news!

If I went out in public tonight, I fear I would punch the first MAGA-hat wearing cretin I saw. Or knock them down. The urge to key cars with the traitor's rag bumperstickers and window decals would be irresistable. I may stop politely ignoring people not wearing masks, I don't know. I am so full of hate and rage at this point.

Worried for a lot of friends and strangers.

Offered our basement to friends who live within riot distance of a nest of treasonweasels near the state capital.

My husband and I are safe and at home, a few miles from the Capitol. Everyone we know is safe, including the daughter of friends who had to work in the city today, saw what was going on and left. The subways closed early. DC is under curfew to 6 am tomorrow and anyone on the street will be arrested. And there are around 1700 National Guard patrolling along with DC police and other police units, with the Guard from DC, VA and MD.

It has been one hella long day and it's not over yet.
