Date: 2020-04-01 11:35 pm (UTC)Then a friend emailed something like... "Yay, you can go back to normal pandemic stress." Which thankfully just made me laugh out loud.
So yes, I'm back to normal pandemic stress, but not freaking out over my brother at least.

Date: 2020-04-02 01:20 am (UTC)I managed to get out for a little today, and I have decided that interacting with the insane child to keep him from being bored enough to destroy the entire hous is a small proice to pay for repeted games of looking for a ghost every five minutes.
...
Right now, I'm okay, let's see what happens when I lay down in my bed tonight.

Date: 2020-04-02 02:42 am (UTC)Unfortunately one of the other friars who's older and in frailer health has had it progress to pneumonia. They're probably going to have to transfer him to the hospital, which in New York right now is ... not good.
The first parishoner deaths have happened, and they're working out how funerals and mourning are going to work.
My parents continue to be scrupulously careful about maintaining isolation, thank goodness. But not being able to go out for PT is really not good for them, my mother especially--her legs have gotten very weak.

Date: 2020-04-02 03:25 am (UTC)I now have one friend who has lost a loved one (as it happens, not to the virus, just to extreme age) who will not be able to observe funeral rites. It's an aspect of this pandemic that I don't think anybody knew to plan for.
I hope the frail friar makes it.

I wanted a little treat, so I scrambled an eggie with cream and bacon bits, and put it in a gluten free ice cream cake cup.

Date: 2020-04-02 05:45 pm (UTC)Can't eat right now, I'm currently wearing a homemade face mask, trying to get used to it, so when I DO have to go out (hopefully not for a month) to get groceries, I will have trained my body to accept it and not have these ITCH ITCH I MUST SCRATCH impulses.
Darn, I failed and scratched. OH, well, training is slow.

Date: 2020-04-04 04:53 pm (UTC)I need someone to discribe how to make a non-sewing face mask. I have a desposable one that I dab with hydrogen peroxide, but I want a washable one, or two.

Non-Sewing (just folding and 2 hair elastics) cloth face mask
Date: 2020-04-04 05:11 pm (UTC)Here are the instructions from the post.
To make this easy DIY face mask even easier (not to mention more comfortable), use hair elastics that are slightly worn in, so they’re not too tight behind the ears, and pick a scarf made with a cotton blend rather than flimsy silk.
Here’s how to do it.
1 Place the scarf or handkerchief facedown on a flat surface.
2 Fold the top half down to the midline of the scarf, then fold the bottom half up to the midline.
3 Flip it over so that the seam faces down.
4 Fold the new top half down to the midline, and the bottom half up.
5 Flip it over again so that the seam faces up.
6 Loop a hair tie over each end of the folded rectangle.
7 Fold the free sides of the rectangle in toward the middle, layering one side over the other.
8 Flip it over! Loop the elastics over each ear to wear, making sure the mask covers your mouth and nose.
I include the link for others who might like to view the video, too.
https://nypost.com/2020/04/03/how-to-make-a-diy-no-sew-face-mask-with-fabric-and-hair-elastics
Note: In the video, the hair elastics get put on about 1/3 of the way across the fabric, so the fabric that extends past them can be flipped over to nearly meet the other elastic.
I hope this helps!

Date: 2020-04-02 06:18 am (UTC)It's the time of month in which my hormones provide brain weasels so if I'm not okay, it's due to unrelated-to-pandemic brain weasels. The past two days have been an emotional rollercoaster, today feels a bit better.
Yesterday I cooked a dish (will probably last me until Saturday), re-watched a movie, read a non-fiction book and enjoyed some fic.
Today I need to make a grocery run and do the dishes, maybe put on a load of laundry as well. I feel exhausted just thinking about it. I'll see how many spoons I have at the end of the workday and go from there.
In other news, winter made a comeback.
