Happy St. Patrick's day?

I wore green when I had lunch in town today. As far as I could tell, only 4 of us were wearing green in the pizza place -- me, and a woman with two girls.

My sixth-grade teacher was Irish, with the most delightful lilt; I had the biggest crush. So I'm a little disappointed when today doesn't get much recognition around here... but, realistically, it's not surprising. About 40% of our population in this area are Mexican or Mexican-American; of course they won't pay much attention to this holiday. Sort of like I know about Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), but don't pay much attention to it.

As coisas estão uma grande merda, às vezes sumir parece a única opção. Estou cansada das pessoas ao meu redor e principalmente cansada de mim mesmo. Tento a todo instante interagir de alguma forma, mas sempre sinto que tudo que faço não vale a pena. Online ou na vida real minha existência ou inexistência passariam em branco para qualquer um.

I truly hope not. I hope you can find someone to connect to. But in this busy life, we may need to accept "part-time" connections.
