I am absolutely livid

I've been struggling with my vegetable garden all summer, but I finally had fruit on my cucumbers-actually-they're-cantaloups and finally had some zucchini flowering and the (heirloom!) tomato was giving flowering another shot after all the rains and SOME FUCKER MOWED EVERYTHING DOWN TODAY. INCLUDING MULTIPLE GARDENING STAKES and STACKED QUARTZ CHUNKS. Also all my very vibrant, very thriving, very much needed for my religious practice marigolds and the shallow dish of water I kept for the bees.

Oh, but they moved aside the garbage bins. And the hand tiller that was sitting IN THE MIDDLE of my garden. And did NOT do anything about the huge branch that came off the tree that no one wants to take responsibility for.

I'm feeling extra enraged because this was someone sent by a local church group who were helping out of a sense of Christian neighborliness and I don't know if it was a different crew or what, cuz up to now they had been respecting my garden rather well. I don't know WTF they were thinking, but now there are sad chunks of green melon strewn across my lawn and marigold seeds everywhere and I'm not impressed.

It's extra frustrating because we live in a poor rural community, so they really OUGHT to know better than to be messing with a vegetable garden. Especially when the grass wasn't even that tall in the yard yet, so I really wasn't expecting them until maybe next week. I'm not Karen enough to send them a bill, tempting as that is, but I'm sure petty enough to hope they fucked up their equipment at least a little bit running it over rock piles like they did.
