For anyone who enjoys the works of Jane Austen, Farahad Zama has written several books that have a lot of the same feel. They're set in modern-day India. Regency-era England and recent/modern India seem to have similar requirements to maintain respectability/gentility and marry at the right age, to a suitable person.

I enjoyed them for the views of daily life in another culture, and for the Austenian focus on very nice people navigating a somewhat inflexible system.

The first one is The Marriage Bureau for Rich People; that's 'rich' as in affluent, doctors and lawyers and engineers. I've read from that through Mrs. Ali's Road to Happiness, wherein I was charmed and impressed by Mrs. Ali's deft handling of the busybody neighbor.

If you want cozy domesticity, and mostly nothing too bad happening, and cleverness triumphant, I recommend them.
