Lots of thunder and lightning here at posting time, with rain pounding the windows. (But only .3 inches.) Completely pushed posting out of my mind.

Oh, my! I hope you aren't in danger of being flooded.

Here in NM, the rain is falling heavily over old and recent burn-scars, creating flash flooding. It's too bad we can't average it all out. Our drought areas would gladly take some of that rain, and then the burn scars might not flood...

No flooding this time, but there have been a number of times we got water almost knee-deep in our basement.

We've had the rain, but none of the light show. I haven't investigated how much rain.

We usually don't get much thunder and lightning, so I tend to get somewhat uncomfortable when it occurs.

I have a rain gauge on my back fence; at 12 miles away from town, I never get whatever the "official" measurement is -- sometimes more, but often less.

Absolutely with you on thunder and lightening. We do get it somewhat regularly, but I am aware that some years back the nearby (<2km) uni got hit and fried some of the internals of some of the computers/peripherals left connected to the networks, which means that if it gets loud I argue with myself about going and unplugging things.

Our nearest official rain gauge is closer than yours; we are a smidge closer to the coast, so I think we usually get more (we had a rain gauge for years, but when it disintegrated, we didn't replace it. Summer sun is not kind to plastic).

I'm doing that Very Adult Thing of ticking off things from the AAAARGH list every day, but watching the end of the list get further and further away and aaaaargh.
