I feel you. I got lucky on mine, but I was still upset that my friend's finances werent flexible enough to let us go out on the 13th. Like...we're both blind; he's in Cuyahoga county, and I'm in Lake County (Ohio)...and we don't get to see each other much anyway, so I was really looking forward to that. Then the 'Stay at Home" order came and even the first week of April plan we had hit the floor with a resounding thud.

Here are lots of hugs. Happy early birthday, too.

Thank you for the birthday wishes!

So much disappointment, so many plans falling through. There are so many people really suffering right now, but smaller suffering is important to acknowledge too. So many of the things that buoy people's moods are just off limits for the foreseeable future, and it's difficult to accept.

I hope you and your friend are able to meet up in the not-too-distant future.

Me, too. A lot of the meetings I go to to get socialization are also being cancelled. Mainly because the places in which they were being conducted have closed, as well.

One of those was the ACB (American Counsel of the Blind) meeting, where he and I usually see each other, regardless of anything else. So even that small comfort is not there now.

Darn — ACB meetings also provide disability solidarity, which is always a great energy boost.

They do, indeed, and many of mty new and budding friendships are among that set.

I could see why they called it off, though, even without the "Stay at home" order, most of the members re in the age-range where higher risks start.
