Last night the whole neighborhood lost power all at once at around 6pm, as I was making dinner. Fortunately we have a UPS per computer here, keeping our systems going until the whole-house propane generator kicked in. The generator was the first thing we got when we bought the house, after Hurricane Sandy (with the previous owners) there was no electricity for *4 weeks*.

The power came back on for the street just before noon today ... but not for us. Oh, we said, look at that wire on the ground in the woods that's supposed to be running from our house to the road, whaddaya know. So I called it in, but because it's just us it's not very high on the priority list, so it'll be tomorrow evening before we get outside power.

And, more important, full internet! I'm using my phone as a hotspot right now, but that's not enough for games or TV. I feel very out of the loop ...

ETA: but we're still really grateful: the neighbors got a large branch through the roof.

Yay for having a generator. Boo that your outage has two sources. (What are the odds, right?) I know!! The first thing I want to do when the power goes out is check with my internet friends. Oops! no can do... (I suppose I should figure out how to use my phone as a hotspot.)

sorry about the delay in getting your power back, though it's helpful you have some back-ups. and no branch through the roof, which is indeed a positive!

Guh...

I over extended my food budget (which means I'm now down to five bucks) by a lot.

I could...skip my Tovala, but godsdammit, it's the only way I'm getting anything remotely nutricious, even if it is about 90 dollars a box (Including shipping; for the next couple ofc weeks I'm getting six meals, not four) which means I need a little over that to cover it...until my unemployment kicks in.

And while I've been a little procrastinatory (Damn site keeps wanting me to reeenter shit I know I've already give them, and it's fuckstrating! And yes, I made a word), I've not been *too bad* considering Mom was here for three weeks, and was running to and from my place trying (succeeding) to pull this place out of the depressive hell I'd landed it in.

*sighs* I hate this shit.

Oh and now?

The unemployment site is inaccessible as fuck. Which means I either need to use my ira service (Of which I only have fifteen minutes with a free five minut call eery 12 hours) to fill it out, or call someone so they can help me fill it out.

*every week* *sighs*

And the kicker? Aira doesn't consider this a 'job seeking' task, so their 30 minute offer doesn't apply for unemployment bennefits. Which means if I run out, I'm fucked because above mentioned only having five bucks and the free call. Meh.

I'm not a fan of Indiana's DWD right now.
