My chronic pain plus depression plus other things have me in a State, but I am getting by. Trying not to worry my wife on the pain, but... sometimes I don't cut the gasp off when it spikes.

I am mostly mentally in an okay place, but I've just started my radiotherapy due to an extremely rude re-appearance of my formerly conquered cancer. More radiotherapy than I had last time. Then chemo, but first we get through the radiation. Lots of new unknowns and ridiculous situations. For example, I am hoping to avoid any further laser eye injuries but the treatment room doesn't have laser protection glasses (but I did get an eye drape).

I am extremely fortunate that my aunt is financially supporting a lot of the weird incidental costs. I'll be using a cold cap system (they have things set up for this at the clinic, but it isn't covered by my insurance) to try and reduce hair loss, but you're also supposed to protect your hair in other ways, like a silk bonnet or silk pillowcases. Which are not cheap. And of course you have to handwash silk (or handwash equivalent) with special detergent. And that costs money too. Et cetera. But my aunt's helping. Thank goodness.

Glad you aunt is lending a hand on costs. And the lack of eye protection up in the form of true eye shields is odd.
