We just got the stay-at-home order. As going on drives is not on the list of allowed activities outside the house, my kid's last nerve has snapped and now I'm dealing with a complete meltdown. (Well, my spouse is, because I've been kicked out of the room. It's not great.)

Damn, that's tough. They're letting us go outside or drive here, as long as we're solitary or in pre-existing family groups.

We can go outside or drive to places, but meaningless drives for the sake of driving aren't on the list of exceptions to staying at home. (So, clearly, we need to drive to parks and change our mind or something when she needs to get out of the house but not out of the car.)

Surely you're allowed to drive to get to a park or nature area, where you can walk (and the kid can run) without getting too close to other humans? Aren't you?

We can drive to a park or nature area, but what she wants is a good old-fashioned aimless Sunday drive kind of drive, and that's NOT on the list. (That said, she's much better today.)
