Grandsons arrived and first thing they want to eat? Microwave popcorn. And what happens when we put in a bag? Nothing. Well, not nothing-nothing - it turns on, it spins the turntable, but no heat. e_e With two fussy eaters for an entire week? This is going to be unfun. e_e We managed their chicken nuggets tonight with the oven, but still not fun. AND I have to figure out how to wrangle cat supplies for adults and kittens. So many kittens and only one has a future home so far. At least the garden is producing well? Vegetables for everyone!

Good news: going to a fancon IRL this coming week.

Bad news: the flooding after this past week's storm was so bad in my suburb that my suburb made headlines as the most rainfall in one day (over 9 inches) and the most flooding -- that was out of 75 Chicago neighborhoods and suburbs listed, mine made the number one spot and has been declared a disaster area. My basement flooded almost knee-deep, and while it's good that I'm going to a con, it's pretty bad to be dealing with the aftermath clean-up in my basement at the same time I'm trying to get prepped for the con.

TYK for the sympathy and the wishes for a good con!

I've got the basement dried out and I've finished the throwing away of things that were ruined. I'm going to put all my focus on packing for the con for the next several hours and then I'm going to do the basement disinfecting.

This is one of my two favorite cons. I KNOW it will be a happy time there.

Good thing: dental cleaning done.

Bad thing: having to delay the rest of the dental work that needs doing for longer still.
