so tired and in need of a vacation from reality. like being disabled in america was already hard enough then covid made it worse and there's neither end nor relief in sight because gods forbid we be a society that takes care of people, no, of course we can't do that, it might deprive a sociopath of his third luxury yacht he'll drive maybe once, better to just let hundreds of thousands of people die than prevent an absolutely evil bastard from hording a trillion dollars in his vaults.

I'm not even sure anymore? Some solution to the problem of being too disabled to work but not disabled enough for it to count that doesn't involve me getting hit by another bus would be good, but that *might* be outside the scope of this community. ;)

Although if anyone knows someone(s) looking for a kitten (or two or three) and is willing to travel to Anderson County, South Carolina (specifically, Belton), I have three adorable muffins in need of fur-ever homes? They're adorable and I know wife is getting rather attached (as are our adult cats), but five cats is more than we can really keep.

I feel you. I've never been so exhausted all the time before. I feel so worn down all the time now.

And all I am is blind with some mental illnesses. My room mates have more reasons to be pissed than I do some days with more conditions than I have. (Not that my reasonsaren't valid/my disabilities aren't important, it's more they can't get out as much, or as easily because mobility limiting disabilities, than I can.)

I still can't leave the country, even if I'd want to.

Yeah, the constant stress has blown up my fatigue ... which ends up increasing my stress because I'm just so tired all the time and having to spend more time resting, so I'm falling behind on things I want to do, so more stress ... I hate this feedback loop and the news just makes it worse.

... They aren't kidding when they say the mental issues of this damn pandemic will live on long after.

Like...I don't feel like I can keep money. :( (I mean I can, but) I'm supposed to have had 2 K left after my det is paid off, but after buying one thing and another, I'm back down to just over $100...and now I hate that. It's funny what you get yoused to in 2 month's time. I used to freak out when I was just under fifty...now it's...when I get under 100, I freak out. #200 on a bad anxiety night, which my brain seems to think it is.

I had this conflict. I didn't realize it was one until I'd handled it well, then adrenaline and anxiety kicked in. It still makes me feel good that we all handled it calmly...and one of my room mates... sort of praised me (She said well done)...on it.


Just...I've done it before, but with the med adjustment, things feel more significant than...I feel like they should...so that helped...meant a lot.


Slept for a bit. Now I can't. Blurg.

Family's going to be in Athens for a couple of weeks more, although they've all tested clean and no longer feel a need to quarantine themselves. My brother's camping out on my couch while my folks are rooming in my aunt's larger apartment a short walk up the hill. Dad needed some dental work, which normally (pre-COVID) would have been taken care of in New York, but with the lockdown, and especially their high-risk status, it ended up being done here in Athens (well, the part of it that's done; there's a follow-up due late next week).

Just from looking at the numbers, Athens is almost infinitely safer than New York right now.

And yet the most important person in my life is back in the US and barred from coming to visit me, and until there's a vaccine, the risks of me traveling to the US have been deemed unacceptable.

So while the burden has largely lifted for my parents and brother (who seems to be in an almost-PTSD-like mental state), it still weighs on me, if not as heavily in absolute terms.

I'm...not as badly off right now. Still looking for work and for computer gear better suited to supporting video-conferencing for job-search purposes. My co-residents and I are all coping with each other well enough. Practicing a bit more with the design and illustration software I can use right now as well, which helps with the mental-health self-support as much as with job search support.
