Looks like I'm back to work by the end of the month. Unfortunately, not in the same place I've been working the past seven years. Not happy about it, of course. but I have no say in the matter. I can do this or go home. And I really do not want to go home as it's much safer here. And it's a job. That is likely much better than any job I could find back home (if I could even find anything). So.

Not doing well, but could be worse. Still putting one foot in front of the other.

Sympathies.

Yeah. Jobs are good. Steady income is good. Jobs we liked and had a say in would be better.

yeah. I am grateful to still have a job after six months of sitting at home. Also grateful that while my 'commute' is much longer, it's still not really a commute. I used to work across the street from my apartment. Now I'll be a kilometer away. Uphill, of course. I'll deal, obviously.

Thanks! I've worked there before and did not like it. But the staff's almost all completely turned over since then, and some policies have changed, so there's hope. ;)

Staying in China is SO much safer than coming back here would be. I'm REALLY afraid about what we're going to be going through by October.

At least it's downhill coming home?

We've got one teacher who's going back to the states next month instead of renewing her contract. I'm just boggling at that.

I'm already worrying about getting home next year. And extra bummed right now because I would have arrived at LAX ... just about now. *sigh*

Oh, blah. At least it's downhill on the way home, if I understand correctly? And here's hoping the staff turnover has brought in much nicer people.

It is indeed downhill going home, so I can get there faster. But uphill is worse when you don't even want to make the trip.
