I have come to the conclusion that I need to change jobs. I'd say careers, except that I don't have one, having flitted from one tech/science job to another for the last 25 years. And I have no idea how to start. Last time I went looking for a job, there were still positions vacant listings in the local paper. And there was still a local paper.

One technique is to identify organizations that you might like to work for / might have jobs for your skillset, and see if they have a Jobs / HR / Careers At page on their website.

Oh, huh, yeah. That would be a thing. I'm currently trying to wrap my head around LinkedIn, which is what came up repeatedly at the industry day that triggered the 'oh, time to change jobs' thinking.
