Got off to a slow start today (it's 8:30 pm for me now) due to cat creating two separate laundry issues, so I didn't get much done, but I DID make a couple little felt monsters, Japanese Amabies, that are supposed to protect against epidemics.

It couldn't hurt, if nothing else, it kept my hands and mind occupied for a few hours and makes me smile when I look at them.

I posted pics in my blog- Iron Amabie and her/his friend Captain Amabie.

Some folks in my SCA kingdom did a Google Hangout reading of the first day's worth of The Decameron. Garb was encouraged, even though we were all at home. It was a pleasant way to interact with friends and acquaintances.

We used multiple translations, whatever we had on hand. Some of us used the Project Gutenberg version. Others have the Penguin Classics book with the translation by G.H. McWilliam -- I think it first came out in 1972. I have that book and it's a nice thick paperback. Still others used the Brown University Decameron Web online text. It's all good, and it wasn't too difficult to follow along across the different translations.

I'm okay, but earlier today was dicey. We got word that someone where I work was infected and that we could expect a phone call from the dept. of health if we had any reason to be specifically concerned. My workplace has over 800 people, but the nature of the work means we're all in contact with each other to SOME extent during the day. I don't want to say much more than that, but I will say that waiting for the phone to ring was NOT good for me, so we went out for a walk instead. It was cold but sunny, and the park was beautiful, and there were lots of other people out doing the same thing, so it was kind of communal even if we were all keeping our distance.

Tl;dr: I didn't get a call. I'm assuming that means I have no more reason to worry now than I did before, and I should just keep doing all the things we're supposed to be doing to prevent illness in ourselves and others.

I'm not seeing these on my reading page - I have to come to the community page to see them. Is it because you're making them way in advance and then re-dating them? Am confused!

Must be some kind of glitch on DW to do with editing the posting time. The same thing happened to me when I made changes to the time on one of my posts.

I am seeing this on my reading page, but I am back a ways.

(Support hat, unofficially)
Entries are arranged on the reading page by the server time they're posted, because time zones are a mess and Brad coded it in his dorm room.

I went back 24 hours from when I made that comment, just in case, and saw nothing. Same with previous entry. I didn't go all the way back to when the comm started, though!

But yeah I though I remembered that redated entries didn't move on the feed.

This are definitely getting better here, but all the news from home is bad, and that makes an icky mix in my head. Hopefully school will start soon and give me something else to think about.

I'm hanging. Nice weather helps. Walking helps--at least, so far, it's okay for me to go out and take a walk in the neighborhood. Everyone seems to be observing safe distance.

Mentally, it's really hard for me to get motivated or to see anything outside pandemic news as very important, but I feel like this will normalize pretty soon and maybe then I'll be able to think ahead a little.

So, apparently I have cold symptoms now. :/ Just a runny nose and occasionally tickly throat and I'm pretty sure it is just a cold, but I guess I'm calling in sick tomorrow to be on the safe side. Ah well, I only had two shifts this week anyway. *sighs*

Thank you. <3 I'm not in any high risk groups and I don't have a temperature or anything so I'm not too concerned right now, but even so, better safe than sorry and all that.

Had a great day, tbqh. Played Jackbox games with my kids in their far-flung homes (fkn hilarious), did some random jobs around the house, had a swim, & Boy made dinner. I'm going in to the office tomorrow (small office, few people) but I'm not sure I'll keep going in for much longer before I have to start working at home full time.

We've still had no cases.

Personally mostly okay (only the usual maladies), aside from running out of yeast. Mostly trying to edit a story that has been accepted to a an anthology and rewriting other stuff.

Situation in Finland is primarily stable evenif some entitled idiots persist on rushing to ski resorts in the north where the virus has yet to spread.

626 infections, one dead so far.

I decided to try growing wild yeast, on noticing that I had lots of flour but no yeast. So far so bubbly! Going to attempt biscuits tonight and see what happens.
