I am fighting existential despondency and wondering if it's worth it to keep going as the future seems increasingly bleak. No, I'm not *~actively suicidal~*, I don't have a plan or anything, I'm just... tired. Very, very tired.

Being out in the rural upstate, things happening elsewhere feel ... not entirely real. The sun rises, the neighborhood does all the same things it did last this time last week, the sun sets. The news feels like another world ... until daughter mentions one of her friends was at the Athens protest that got gassed (surprisingly, the friend left before the gas attack). I've been waiting for this chain of events since 2015, but it's still eerie to be living through it.

As for the grandsons, they're happily eating every couple of hours like the growing boys they are. Thanks to whomever sent the jerky, that made for a good afternoon protein snack with juice. ;)

W has five interviews lined up for tomorrow. Hopefully one of them (or more than one) turns into a job offer.

I've had sciatica and struggling with working at home on a desktop that was breaking down. Sciatica's almost gone, new desktop almost all set up, and I'm feeling better and it feels like the world's exploding. I don't really quite know how to deal so I'm just focusing on the next thing I can do. That doesn't feel like enough but I don't know what would be.

Sciatica is the worst! I feel for you - I'm in the middle of a flare-up now and it's such a hassle trying to find a comfortable position. Can't really cope with the news just now, even from far away in NZ. I worry about all my US friends.
