It turned out my eye doctor appointment, that for some reason I thought was tomorrow actually was today. I only noticed when I saw the the "missed notification" thing on my cell phone, but I had not heard the chime I set for an hour before.

Usually I'm good about keeping track of all my appointments in my head, so my calendar notifications are set to be unobtrusive and I don't need them to remind me. I don't think I ever missed a doctor's appointment before today in my life. Or any appointment really, it's just not a problem I have usually. I guess there's a first time for everything. :/

I was so embarrassed when I had to call the practice, apologize for not showing up and make a new appointment. Phone calls are awful for me anyway, but this much more so. Luckily I at least got a new appointment next week already.
