I have a new puppy, who is cute as hello and actually somewhat well behaved. But he needs to pee at night, and the middle dog has decided to be even more ADHD than usual, so my spoons, they are few.

I hope you find a good dog routine soon. We're dog sitting Smallest Sister's 15 year old dog, and he's usually good over night but there have been some medication adjustments and going out every few hours. As the person with the flexible sleep schedule I get the joy.

After 9 terrible years, Australia finally got rid of our rightwing/conservative party, the Coalition, and our terrible former Prime Minister, Scott Morrison. It is such an IMMENSE relief to see them gone.

These are some of the terrible things they did before they were un-elected last night:

SCOTT MORRISON LITERALLY WENT ON HOLIDAY TO HAWAII WHEN AUSTRALIA WAS HAVING THE WORST BUSHFIRES [FOREST FIRES] AUSTRALIA HAS EVER SEEN

THE GOVERNMENT DIDN'T EVACUATE PEOPLE DURING FLOODS BIGGER THAN HURRICANE KATRINA - PEOPLE HAD TO PAY FOR THEIR OWN EVACUATION HELICOPTERS OR RELY ON THEIR NEIGHBOURS DINGIES

completely fucked up quarantine for people coming to Australia from overseas to slow the spread of COVID

completely fucked up domestic public health measures to slow the spread of COVID

completely fucked up Australia's COVID vaccination purchase and rollout for adults, and then fucked up in exactly the same way six months later for Australia's COVID vaccination purchase and rollout for children

refused to address climate change

slashed funds to public health care

slashed funds to Disability services

hated LGBT people - ESPECIALLY trans people, they've been banging the drum about how religious schools should be able to expel trans students; and how trans girls/trans women shouldn't be allowed to play women's sports :(

Still here after a major storm system swept through Ottawa-Gatineau this past afternoon. Power outage lasted nearly 12 hours for my block.

Others have not been so fortunate.
