On the plus side, my sprained ankle has improved and now only hurts a little from the bruising, but I'm not limping anymore and it can bear my full weight.

In less good news, my brother had to cancel our coffee date today because his throat started hurting last night. It's not clear yet whether it's covid, but either way, no virus parties.

Yeah, me too. He has a bunch of risk factors, but is vaxxed and boosted for covid. He said he'd try to get a PCR test on Monday.

Most of the testing places here are meant to be used only preventatively for when you don't have symptoms, and with symptoms you are supposed to call your doctor -- so somewhat paradoxically it's all more of a hassle when you are actually sick with something.

Unfortunately paxlovid is still really scarce and thus rationed here, so he probably wouldn't get it here even if his sore throat turns out to be covid. :/
