I am a little stressed, but it manifests in either not sleeping well or sleeping for a long time the day after -- not an emergency in the current situation. I am listening to birdsong. It helps.

I just found out that a friend and former co-worker passed away earlier this week. We can't hold funerals in Washington state so there was an online memorial for him today, using zoom. It was great to see people that I used to work with three years ago and tell Donn stories to one another; it really helped. Donn was going to retire this month, so someone had gathered up some favorite sayings of his for a retirement party and read them aloud to us, which made all of us laugh. I am just so sad that he didn't have his party and a chance to enjoy some time off before he passed.

So, yeah. Not okay, but I don't need help. Grief just takes time.

Just feel a little lost since I can't go to my volunteer work or visit the cat cafe during lockdown.

I work in a supported living service and my job is on the key worker list so I'm having to look after myself as much as I can while looking after the residents when I'm on a shift.

I need bread, but I can ask my cleaner to fetch it for me when she has time.

I'm okay, but my foster cat Socksy is going to be adopted tomorrow, so I'm a little happy-sad about that. He's been a good flatmate.

Trying not to freak out.

My brother did, as I expected, test COVID-+. He called me to tell me the news, which I appreciated because I could hear his voice for myself. He says all he's got so far is a fever and a very sore throat -- it was croaky, but not unintelligible, and there was no coughing. He's not in the hospital nor does he expect to be (as things now stand).

I figured he'd probably get the virus during the first big wave, because he's a Catholic priest who's exposed to so many people. He's also given Communion multiple times since he was infected, so he's probably spread it throughout the parish.

Trying not to freak, trying not to freak.

That sucks. I'm crossing my fingers for him, that he'll get through the next few weeks okay and the infection won't take a severe turn.
