I'm still here. Alive and not sick. The province I live in has become something of a hot spot. So far all the new cases have not been in my city, but the resurgence has quashed any hopes of getting back into the classroom this term.

My apartment community hasn't locked down again, but they are checking temps once more.

I really should be on meds but i'm not and I am not up for the ordeal of getting new ones. So. Day to day.

Hope everyone else is better shape.

While I won't be in the hole, I'm cutting it *WAY* thinner than I thought I would from yesterday's deal. I suppose that's what I get for doing math in my head before a lot of shit actually *higs* *sighs*

Thank goodness June isn't that far off, otherwise I'd be more worried than I am.

I've been under the weather.

I went to my infusion treatment on Monday, which was more disorienting than usual because of new procedures -- the SU can't stay with me, and there's no place for him to wait any more, so he drove me there, drove home (40 min. each way) and then I had to call for him to come get me. But when it came down to it, after I texted him, I really didn't want to wait in the lobby of the clinic, with the other people there and walking through and the air circulation not so good. So I went outside and sat on a park bench in the slightly damp air, with a chilly breeze coming through.

And got a sore throat from it.

It's better now. Two days of mostly sleeping and drinking hot plain tea with lemon and brown sugar and taking cough drops and Tylenol did it. I kept taking my temperature obsessivly, to make sure it was only sore throat. No fever. That was comforting.

And now I'm back, more or less. Incentive payment hit the bank account, thanks be, but my absentee ballot for the primary has NOT come in the mail though the SU's has. I may growl loudly in the direction of the Board of Elections if I don't see it soon.

Sympathies. This is an unusually scary time to catch a cold. Your decision to wait outside instead of in the lobby still looks smarter overall. And good for you for taking care of yourself.

Summer memories

We've been having warm weather -- the first really warm day, warm enough for shorts!

Our local public library has a big lawn in front of it, with scattered trees and benches. Mostly you get the usual mix of people sitting, reading, sunbathing, playing frisbee... but a few times, previous years, someone strung a tightrope between two of the trees, about four feet off the ground, and practiced walking the tightrope.
