I'm getting back into making quick pickles. It turns out that a garlic clove, a couple small slices of ginger, and some turmeric can make carrots amazing.

I've been making quick pickles since the pandemic. (Having to make three meals at home every day since March 2020 has done wonders for how much time I spend on kitchen-crafts). I <3 ginger and I <3 turmeric...and I had not thought of them for adding to my pickling brine. I'm deffo doing this with my very next batch! Thank you kindly for this idea!

About how much turmeric do you use per how much pickling brine?

I eyeballed it, but I'd say around quarter teaspoon for a US cup of brine. It was an afterthought ingredient that ended up working better than I expected.

Managed a pace of one job application filed per day, minimum, for three days now. Today's application got me a quick pre-interview over the phone within 2-3 hours. No guarantees of anything beyond that.

The purr-beast is at my house currently sleeping on a cushion under the dining room table. He's got cancer. The vet oncologist put him on a treatment plan for roughly the next six months (palliative not a cure). So far Todd is responding beautifully to it. I've been sat on and purred at several times this afternoon.

In other news I want the weather to pick one thing and stick with it because today's migraine came with auditory hallucinations and that's annoying. (Phone ringing in another room, doorbell going off, other similar sounds.)
