Date: 2021-12-29 02:35 pm (UTC)Woot! Way to go!
I have mine scheduled for not quite 2 weeks hence -- I don't become eligible until 4th Jan, and it was what the Drs surgery offered.

Date: 2021-12-29 03:01 pm (UTC)With my own GP I would have had to wait much longer and the city vaccination places also only free offered slots in February. It's a kind of ridiculous system here, that makes you search for vaccinations in a kind of Darwinian struggle (well I hope GPs prioritize the vulnerable somehow, but my brother who is a decade older than me, and has several risk factors for bad covid also couldn't get boosted by his GP, but found a dermatologist who offered extra vaccinations services.)

Date: 2022-01-03 11:28 am (UTC)Ah! Our eligibility interval drops from six months to five as of 4th Jan, and I booked the day I discovered that that made me eligible (my second was mid August; partners was late August). That 'find your own' issue sounds dreadful. I think (but didn't check) that our free clinics will have expanded the available slots again, I just wanted to get done quickly, and suspected that the appointments at the clinics would have filled up very quickly again -- for my first shot I made an appointment within 24 hours of them opening, and had to wait over a month.
I don't know about GPs, but I know that there have been some specific prioritisation of people at higher risk, because several people I know have had boosters already and didn't appear to have issues accessing them.
