Yay for new job, boo to anxiety. Here's hoping the reality of the job deals with the anxiety.

Well, the old computer is really acting up- I had to force quit a zillion times just to be able to eventually restart. And then force quit everything except the finder and one browser in order to get to the Best Buy site to find out how to report that the refrigerator I got on the 17th is NOT COOLING.

So, that was 2 hours this morning (eventually with nearly everything quit I was able to clear the cache and waited 15 minutes more before I could access the cookies to remove most of them. With all that removed, I could get the phone number.

I refused the 'we'll have Whirlpool call you and tell you how to download a manual' 'we'll have someone come out and look at it' 'we'll repair it'.... Um, no. A brand new refrigerator should work. I didn't get a 'floor model' or 'scratch and dent' or 'refurbished'. So I was TOLD they'd send a new one to me on Dec 23.

Around here they expanded booster vaccination eligibility today so you can get boosted after three months and don't have to wait six, and I actually managed to snag an appointment for the 29th as soon as I heard that I'm now allowed.

So if I manage to avoid catching omicron over Christmas, I might still get boosted in time to improve my chances with its wave (that's still building here, in that omicron isn't dominant over delta in the recently analyzed tests yet, but obviously there's a bit of lag and it's growing).

I've already waited close to six months, so at this point...it's not going to matter now, right? I'm waitlisting with one of the local pharmacies.

Yikes. That sounds as frustrating as the situation here. Fingers crossed for you that a slot opens up soon.

I feel kind of disgruntled with these systems where people have to scramble for vaccination opportunities. It's such a stressful way to organize this and doesn't seem effective either, or likely to get to the most at risk first.

I only got my second dose in late August so I wasn't worried too much about waning effectiveness yet, when it was Delta, but of course Omicron changed that.

And I worry about Christmas. The family gathering I hope to atrend is less than ten people and we agreed to do rapid tests before meeting, but the overall infection numbers here are so bad and worsening right now. It all just sucks.
