yeah, my state is reopening our borders to the rest of Australia in January 2022/Feb 2022 and I really wish we weren't - COVID is going to come rushing in as soon as we reopen our borders :(

Responsibility and reward!

I need to get the energy to apply for a booster shot. Brain rot is slowing me down... on the bright side, I did finally finish a little sewing of Christmas gifts and while I have to keep stopping to reset my brain (did I wrap this for person X or person Y? Did I put them in the right mailing box?) sometimes pausing to faff about on the computer has its benefits...

Today my cat chased a lizard over my feet while I was sitting here. I chased her (female rainbow lizard) around this room with a small fish net from years ago when I had goldfish, she went into the sewing room, I chased her in there, she went into my bathroom, I picked up everything chased her around there and STILL lost her. Gave up and came back in here to play a simple puzzle game, lizard came back, chased her around here in between stuff around stuff and finally under the dresser next to me.

Gave up and played puzzle. Heard soft claw scrabble. Lizard sitting in front of my feet. Held the net JUST in front of her nose. Waited. After a minute she nosed forward. Another minute, put a foot on the net. A couple minutes more she got the front half of her in the net. I grabbed up the net with my hand behind it, she started to leap out, I held the net against my chest and got out to the yard.

YAY. And she went off to eat bugs and live another day.

So, that ate up an hour or so. :^)
