I'm over being sick. Just. Done with it. I'm tired of being snotty and running fever. Current theory based on who in the family got laid out and who didn't and who had gotten their flu shot already is that this is the flu and not just a cold.

Sounds rotten. I hope it'll improve soon, whatever it is.

In good news, my regular retina check (a dreaded and unpleasant experience for me, that unfortunately has to happen every six months for monitoring) showed no bad changes. :D

I got my booster on Sunday and spent Monday in bed curled up in my electric blanked. I *thought* I was better yesterday, but I woke up at 5:30 this morning soaked in sweat--as tho a fever had just broken. And surprise! I feel much more alert, and my knees aren't huring!

Which is good, because it's Cooking Day.

Stomach flu last night (unpleasantness) and woke up to the sound of multiple chainsaws much too early. And yesterday had a podiatric appointment that turned out to be with the doctor whose lack of manners and bullying remind me of a bulldozer left turned on without driver. I do not bully well (a side effect of dealing with my late bipolar alcoholic father) but it pushed my BP way high up, enough that the nurse not only came back later to retake it but gave me her personal phone number so that when I need to be seen again I can have it with someone else, which was immensely kind of her. So, I am exhausted.

On the good side, Diana Gabaldon's "Go Tell the Bees that I am Gone" arrived yesterday, all 900+ pages of it. It's obvious that they told her she could not have a thousand-page book, because the type size was decreased and the spacing was decreased a bit to squeeze it into that 900+ pages. But there's plenty of story and it is cheering even when things in it are difficult.
