I visited my niece in the mountains today -- Ruidoso. On my way out of town, saw a herd of elk by the side of the road, one cow right on the verge eating tree leaves. No pics; it was raining a deluge, traffic backed up, and the pull-off was [a] on the other side of the road and [b] already full with three vehicles. But I have the memory. <g>

Date: 2021-08-12 01:04 am (UTC)- the actual process of getting there - I've been having dizziness, will the drive make me motion sick?
will the wheelchair taxi there turn up? the taxi home?
- what the cause of my new symptoms is, what if it's serious
- how exhausted I will be when I get home

Date: 2021-08-12 11:14 am (UTC)Disappointed that "just in time" was transferred from stuff inputs onto labor; oddly people have to eat etc regardless.
I really hate websites that can't skip loading pictures and thus take you away from where you're reading ; not everyone has as much bandwidth.

Date: 2021-08-13 03:41 am (UTC)I also hate extraneous pics. Have you tried using Firefox as a browser? It has a 'reader view' for most websites. (page-icon at the end of the URL, but not every site) When you click it, only the text part of the page loads. Some pics, if relevant to the story, but not ads or other distractions.

Date: 2021-08-15 02:39 am (UTC)I don't hotlink, and I have limited time for clearing out the escalated 'game of chicken' regarding my attention.
The other part isn't so dire, but everything is ever changing and I've no patience for figuring out the odds. I'll do without such things until I can judge I'm not impeding getting this under control.

Date: 2021-08-15 03:02 am (UTC)If you look at the address line from left to right, there's some icons, the https://address, then a tiny little 'page' icon. (A rectangle border, with 3 horizontal lines in the 'box'.) Just click that to get 'reader view'. It will show only the text of whatever article you're reading -- no comments or other extraneous stuff. It's very handy, especially for reading pages with eye-bleeding colors. And when you want to get out of it, just click the 'page' icon again.

Yeah, all we can do is our best.
