I fought the grass today (mowing and a little weeding) and neither of us won. Like I mowed down most of what needed mowing, enough to feel satisfied, but things have gotten a bit wild in the back by the swamp and there's still a good bit of grass in my garden, but noodle arms.

But man I wish I had the bandwidth and spoons to actually form our cat rescue work into a Proper Rescue cuz there's shit all else for cats in this county apparently. Easier to just abandon them on the side of the road somewhere. The Good Neighbors are going to bring us some more kibble tomorrow since one of the park cats decided to have her kittens in our bathroom without warning. So if these make it to old enough, we'll have four more kittens to find homes for, sigh.

I feel you on fighting the grass. I'm doing mine bit by bit.

Sorry about the cats there. :(

We've been getting a good bit of rain lately, too, which on the one hand, when I *can* get into the garden, makes it a bit easier to weed. On the other hand, it means everything in the garden is growing like, well, a weed. XD At least the unplanted section of the garden is mostly clover, which is good for when I'm able to plant it again either later this summer or next spring, depending?

I think the biggest issue I have with these cats is that they're all so sweet and loving and just want to be loved and don't understand why they've been dumped, but Maiki (roaming park cat) keeps telling other ferals that we offer noms and shelter, so they keep coming - including her, we've got a local group of five adults now. At least we've managed to rehome most of the kittens that get brought to us? But I'm not looking forward to when Fading Kitten hits this litter (it might not, but then again).

We're not used to that-things growing so much. I turned around, and I had 3 foot high weeds!!!

Sometimes I'm sad to not have a yard at all, and sometimes it sounds like a narrow escape. Kudos to you for your valiance.

I just keep plugging away at it a half hour a day at a time and it ... sort of keeps things under control. It would be easier manage if I was physically able to do more, but one podcast ep is about the limit if I want to be able to do it every day and not die in the process. XD
