Getting over my first cold in sixteen months. (Not Covid, i had to get tested for other reasons )

Never ever take your masks off folks! Masks 4ever. There are other germs than Covid out there. I'm pretty sure I got this via a household member who visited outdoors with a baby, can't really think of another vector.

Sympathies on the cold.

I am planning to keep masking pretty much forever for supermarkets and other errands. It's not like I talk much then anyway, my voice comes through one cloth mask just fine, and it's been so *nice* not getting sick twice a winter.

My sister's dog had his lung cancer surgery on Tuesday. Today he came to my house to start his recovery. So far that's been a lot of naps. The doctors are very optimistic about his recovery.

I'm feeling so worn down.

Today it hit me that I probably won't be able to see the Black Widow movie when it comes out either, because I still can't get vaccinated (they are still at the over-60s and various priority groups where I live and the vaccines are so scarce that they can't even offer appointments for those right now, because it's barely enough to keep up with second doses). And I don't dare to go sit in a cinema for hours unvaccinated, though the local infection situation is currently at least improving, so that cinemas are scheduled to re-open by then, but I'm risk-averse.

It's the accumulation of these small things that are getting to me.
