Had the kids over for the first time in months (yes, we're vaccinated), to celebrate a birthday. It was really wonderful seeing family again. I had missed them badly during all the months of Covid quarantine (They work public-facing jobs, I & spouse have high-risk conditions, so we all agreed to stay away from each other until there's a vaccine and we'd gotten it.) So good to spend an afternoon with them again!

Rough week, and it kind of hit hard yesterday and today. Robin Wood, the artist who made the Robin Wood Tarot, among many other things, died last week; her memorial was in Second Life tonight, and that was a good and helpful event. It helped offset the death of a longtime friend yesterday (from diabetes) and the probable death of a long-distance friend who is in Sri Lanka, where the virus is raging like in India; no word from him for a month, then all his social media closed at once. And, today, learning that another longtime friend has been diagnosed with Parkinson's, and has (apparently) a strong case of it. So the world feels wrongly smaller today. There are good things in the world: I played cello today and sounded a little better, the weather is good, I am not ill. I am trying to hold onto the good things as the hard ones pile higher and higher.

Those are a lot of sad and worrying things - glad you're reminding yourself about the good things as well. Sending you hugs.
