checking in from a rather iced-over South Carolina to note that we still have power, hooray, and also there is no way I'm going outside any time soon with the amount of ice out there, yikes.

We're not out of the woods yet with this weather system, but we're hanging in so far!

I had hella deep snow to shovel yesterday, but I consider myself blessed that at 70 years old I'm still fit enough to shovel snow in below-zero temperatures. (And if you know due South fandom, you will understand that because of Benton Fraser -- *points to icon* -- I have fannish reasons for appreciation of rugged winter weather.)

Kudos! I can still shovel snow, too -- but I've done only a minimum. Cleared part of the ramp so I could get out to dump bird seed and fill water tubs. (Supplied with stock tank heaters, so birds and cats can still get a drink.) I'll let rising temps take care of the rest. Retired, live rural, so no one but me to be inconvenienced by "my" snow.

And, so true. Every time I sigh about dealing with snow, I remind myself that my three inches is nothing to folks in Canada, Minnesota... or Greenland!

Good that you are still fit to shovel snow too.

And here in Chicagoland three inches is not considered very deep either. I've got more than that in my backyard right now.

<grin> Well... three inches on the flat. Lots of drifts, of course, up to about 6 inches. But way back in 2017 (I think, maybe '18), I was holed up with my aging parents when we had literal six-foot drifts around the house. Fun times!
