hooray, did not in fact sleep through the night by accident! 😅 (naps are dangerous!)

So as noted in other comment, found a contractor to patch + seal the roof and repair the bathroom floor + install a new toilet, so one less thing for me to have nightmares about (briefly) (not that I'm lacking in nightmare fuel - woke up several times last night feeling the urgent need to puke thanks to stress). We are looking for help to fund this - our house, unlike so many others, is still mostly structurally sound, so we're down the priority list for FEMA, I'm sure. They haven't rejected us outright, but repairs can't wait too much longer, but my brain's so cooked I'm not even sure were to start on fundraising, ugh.

(I mean, I also haven't gotten *any* work done in days now, but that's a whole other kettle of fish at this point)

On the one hand, a GoFundMe page might be wise, on the other hand, I have a batch of cats wanting dinner and then it's going to be collapse into bed time again probably.

A phrase echoes in my mind: "waking up from the American dream." I'm trying to hold on to small bits of hope where I can find them, for myself, for my friends, for the world at large. And it may be wishful thinking, but I am seeing a few points of hope. Small, forlorn hope, but all the same, it's not nothing.
