Angry at the Trumpists over that damned red triangle stunt today. Thinking that a good idea might be to take it away from them, repurpose it as a banner of all decent humans.

Sad at finding out a day late about the death of a friend of mine. Just posted about that on my own account.

Hi. Still alive. More grades back to school, but I won't be joining them until fall term. But that's really only two months away, so. I can deal.

I seem to be having a good day so far. But it's only 9:30s, so who knows. Still, it's nice not to start the day in despair.

Can't wait for the days to start getting shorter - I seem to be most productive when it's dark out.

Despite social distancing, have managed to pick up a virus. Slept all yesterday, now have the pain associated with having been in bed today but don't have the oomph to do anything.

Would appreciate reading suggestions - fluffy non-fiction or fic, I've a stack of original fiction I'm failing to engage with. Fic can be any fandom or pairing, there are few I won't read.

I'm sorry about your loss.

The red triangle stunt was horrifying. My country scares me more and more all the time.

I just clapped back at a BNF in my fandom who's bullying me and also being vaguely racist (and will insist she's not a racist, but she literally wrote a canon white character, who she constantly emphasizes as being super ultrabrite pale, teaching culture to people in ancient Africa and stuff like brown people were too dumb to invent culture on their own). I am burned out from the drama and feeling hypervigilant and nauseated.

I'm sorry you are dealing with someone so bigoted and difficult. Is there anything you can do for yourself that will help with the hypervigilance?

When I woke up this morning, in the half-awake state that comes when it's a slow awakening, I realized that the long and involved dream I had had, where I was wandering through a big unknown Victorian-type house with far too many rooms and hallways, was actually about looking for my friend who died a couple of weeks ago, because I saw in the dream most of our mutual friends, but kept looking for who was missing. And it hit me again.

Thank you. Yeah, I've been doing some things to calm down. I have a cat on me at the moment.

On the slim chance you haven't read them:

From AO3:

"This, You Protect", part one of the Infinite Coffee and Protection Detail, by Owlet. Captain America and Winter Soldier fanfic, a lovely cozy story of Bucky Barnes finding his way back from being an assassin to being in human society again. The Olds and Cat Eleanor add a lot.

"Ain't Really Quaint", by QuietNight and SilentWalrus. Captain America and Winter Soldier AU, while Steve is recovering from having a ginormous alien fall on him. Cozy and funny.
I also recommend "Where the Dread Fern Grows", again by SilentWalrus, a Captain America AU with magic.

Thank you so much for these. I really appreciate it. I had read 'This, You Protect', but the other two were new to me.
