pray for us that I don't just snap entirely
so after the 12hrs w/o power yesterday, this evening a pipe bursts and we had to have main water shut off. which, fortunately, our neighbor could help us with that (by telling his son how to do it, since he wasn't actually home at the time), but I have NO IDEA how we're going to get this fixed. And it's still insultingly cold down here (I live in South Carolina, goddammit, I should not be dealing with this bullshit!) and I'm just ... going to have to find the executive function spoons to talk to him about if he could do the repair for us, even tho we're broke until next month. I don't even know what it's going to cost, other than probably a lot because Christmas, but here we are.

So after all the worry whether my brother's bum knee would cancel Christmas, I wake up early thus morning feeling extremely nauseated. I haven't eaten too much yesterday so it's either a stomach bug or food borne illness.

I very rarely get gastrointestinal issues, especially not nausea, so when it does occur I'm feeling extra miserable because it is so unfamiliar.

On top of everything else my whole back is cramping. So I canceled my visit, and I guess I'll spend Christmas feeling sick at home and not eating anything.

Thanks. So far my body hasn't been violently expelling anything on either end (to edge a bit into TMI, so far I just get the excessive saliva spurts with nausea, but then can't actually vomit -- it's like a super unpleasant fake out).

I just feel really awful and self pitying.

That was me on one evening this week, right up to the saliva and the dry retch. I hope yours clears up as quickly as mine did.

Yeah, fingers crossed. Maybe it'll just clear up and I can manage a Boxing Day visit.

I did a Covid quick test to be on the safe side (as I heard that some people can get only gastro symptoms) and at least that was negative.
