Smallest sister is home tonight and will reclaim the menagerie at some point in the next few days. Kind of sad about not having any four footed friends in the house, but also not looking to get any of my own until after hurricane season is over.

What is the relationship to hurricane season? Concern about evacuating the four-footeds?

One of our fosters, Heidi (image link), has extreme anxiety (making her harder to place, cuz she's a special needs cat). A very low dose of Benadryl twice a day keeps her stress grooming more or less under control, if anyone wants to help us get more (plus the wet food we use as delivery method), they're at the top of this wishlist: pets

On the way. Shipping on the food is slower than usual, though; it won't be along until 9/1 or 2. Benadryl should make it there much earlier.

Heidi would say thank you, too, but she's currently Very Sulky and "hiding" from the world because she didn't get wet food at lunch (she never gets wet food at lunch and this is always The Worst Injustice Ever)

You're welcome! According to my rescue puppies, the Worst Injustice Ever is giving them regular cookie treats after their evening walk instead of greenies.

Evacuating four-footeds is the primary one. My parents, 2 siblings, sibling's 2 children, sibling's spouse and I evacuate together. (The SU works for a hospital and has been ride out crew the last several years.) My sisters have four dogs and a large cat between them. The dogs don't all get along, especially in stressful situations. I don't drive and therefore cram into whatever available space there is. Trying to add more bodies to the puzzle is stressful.

I just don't feel up to doing the evacuation dance while also getting pets settled into a household.
