well, the kittens let me sleep all the way to 8am this morning, so progress? And then delivery at 9 that woke one boy. More snacks that we sent home with the boys this evening when their dad came to get them. He's waiting to hear back on one job that basically hired him there, pending his background check. He's also waiting to interview with another, supervisor-position job with a smaller company, which would be better for limiting grandson D's exposure to COVID (he's over the hump with his cancer treatment, but he's still vulnerable).

Of course now that things have calmed and the boys are back home, my disabled self is going into a crash flare. Sigh. Fortunately, we have some easy to make meals we can do while recovering. But man would I kill for a lasagna and some ice cream about now!

Stressed by the military presence in DC, worried a bit that it or the fake protesters who are causing problems by wrecking buildings and burning things might cross the border. I could hear the helicopters chasing people downtown the other night. Tonight there is enough Beltway traffic to block that.

I also had to get emphatic in Facebook about where I stand relative to white supremacists -- which is opposite them, against them, all the way. I have seen bigotry and racism from some of the less-often-seen cousins in the past; at the time (since I was a guest in their house) I felt I had to demur and ignore. I do not do that any more. I do not expect my 80-year-old elder cousins to change at all; but I would like their children and grandchildren to realize that there is a different viewpoint among the relatives, even if it comes from a different country.

On the positive side, though, I got out to walk today in relative peace and quiet, took photos of flowers and of one of the neighborhood bunnies, and have been watching Miyazaki movies on HBOmax (no idea how long I'll keep it, but at least I can watch all of those.) And Duck Amuck. I'm hoping they'll have What's Opera, Doc, also.
