I was okay earlier today, actually in a good mood for once.

Then my room mates started about my stimulus...they still don't think I'd gotten it, although I could have sworn I told them I did and was buying things for the house/paying off bills with it. Aparently it didn't stick, and now I feel like an ass because I spent about $200 on me, and the other 1G or so went to bank/medical/home warrantee debt+some of the smaller services I pay for.

I get really nervous when I spend money on me because they get cranky about it 'because survival first'. Which I get, but...I just...like, the only things I really spend on me are the $15 for audible and Serious and the 1$10 for Apple music. I have other sources for Disney+ and Netflix. But I'm still going to feel like a bitch.

Because she told me *yesterday* about a standing air conditioner they want. Which is $400, and I told her I'd go halvesies on it. ... and she assumes that $200 will come out of sad stimulus...which I've already spent the majority of.

And I'm pretty damned sure they're going to say it's *my* fault they didn't know and that *I* never told them any such thing, because it's what they tend to do in situations like this.

...

So now I've had to put in for this weeks (June 1st) R"radio free Monday...to kinda cover my ass a bit.

...

Why in hell do I always feel guilty for spending shit on me>? Even when I intellectually know I fucking shouldn't? *sighs*

Not to sound like a dick, because I don't know them, but why is it your responsibility to pay for an air conditioner *they* want? (Even though you said you'd go half on it, they still brought it up.) It feels kind of... weird... that they're expecting you to pay for that, like you're being taken advantage of.

Do they not have money of their own?

It kind of sounds like you feel guilty for spending on yourself because you're told you're not allowed to spend on yourself.

But they're allowed to spend on themselves? Survival before wants yes, but air conditioners aren't survival either outside the tropics.

They are when someone hasd arhythmias, and the other has POTS and dysautonomia. Irt's a standing umit for the common area. We all benefit.

That said, I still partially agree with you.

They do, but the only one working right now is the husband of the pair (And only because Starbuxcks is essential). It's a standing unit for the common area, from which we all would benefit. He has Arhythmias, and she has POTS/Dysautonomia. So it's like...already hot enough that most of their spoons are used up just by staying upright.
